Photographing weddings is what we do and what we love, and it’s always so exciting documenting all the special moments of the day. That was definitely the case for Phil and Alice’s wedding which occurred across two incredible venues – Ditton Manor in Slough and The Runnymede On Thames Hotel in Surrey.
We also love details, and there were so many capture-worthy ones throughout the day, but the detail that made the biggest impression was a classic Morgan car! This gorgeous vehicle belonging to the bride’s father played an important role in the wedding photos as well as the transportation for the couple from one venue to the next. Everyone loved seeing it but Phil especially loved driving it! Here’s a glimpse of the day (and the car).
Phil And Alice’s Wedding At Ditton Manor and The Runnymede On Thames Hotel
Phil and Alice’s wedding was a dream to photograph. We started the day photographing the bride getting ready in an exquisite room on-site. Alice was glowing and looked so beautiful. The boys were all smartly dressed and relaxed, and we had fun photographing them outside the manor house entrance. Ditton Manor was breathtaking – lush gardens, elegant architecture, and charming features such as ivy-covered walls. There’s no question it was a stunning backdrop and just perfect for Phil and Alice’s union.
Hot, sunny days
With the tremendous weather all day, it felt like we were in Spain. The stunning Greek Gardens were dressed to perfection with florals by Seventh Heaven, and the bespoke creations had us all in awe. And David, a talented DJ we have worked with for years, really set the mood for this outdoor ceremony by playing Bridgerton vibes perfect for the venue and the day. It was a lovely outdoor ceremony and seeing everyone gathered to celebrate Phil and Alice’s union felt so wonderful. The couple looked stunning and were beaming as they said their heartfelt vows.
Photos at the ceremony site
After the ceremony, we created an amazing series of family group shots in front of the magnificent castle façade. We then went on to have some fun with the bridal party before creating something extra special – beautiful portraits of Phil and Alice! They were so romantic together, posing with such love. The manor’s stunning backdrops added a touch of elegance to their couple’s portraits. As the sun began to set, we captured some incredible golden hour light at a great spot – who’d have known that it was actually in the car park!?
Onto the reception venue
Phil drove the Morgan car from the manor house to the reception venue, his first time driving it! They arrived in style for their reception at The Runnymede On Thames Hotel. The reception was elegant, with top-notch service. Inside, the venue was beautifully decorated with flowers, including a stunning floral arch. The cupcakes and cake looked delicious, elegantly decorated with roses.
First dance and Guess Who
Dr. and Mrs. Young shared an incredibly touching and romantic first dance that all of their guests will never forget! The bride’s family have a special tradition for family weddings where they play a party game of “Guess Who?” at every one, and this wedding was no exception. The bride’s brother led the game with all 100+ guests participating and it had everyone in fits of laughter. It was definitely a moment that broke the ice!
Overall it was an incredible celebration and the entire day was filled with so many special moments. We also learned that Ditton Manor will be closing for major regeneration work, so we are thrilled that our photos from this wedding will serve as reminders of the incredible venue as it now stands. We know it is going to look epic when it reopens in time for the next special occasions.
