Some wedding days feel like they were written for the venue and Katie and Chris’ celebration at Great Fosters Hotel in Egham, Surrey was exactly that. As a Great Fosters wedding photographer, it’s always a joy to photograph a day that blends effortlessly with the charm of the location, and theirs was a perfect balance of timeless elegance and modern romance.

Getting Ready at Great Fosters

Both Katie and Chris spent the morning getting ready at the hotel, which set such a calm and intimate tone for the day. The bridal suite was filled with soft, natural light and gorgeous details — from blush-toned bridesmaid dresses to Katie’s chosen scent, Tiffany & Co. perfume, adding a touch of luxury and modern femininity. Her bouquet of nude pinks and neutral florals hinted at the style to come: understated, refined, and beautifully classic.

A Beautiful Ceremony Onsite

Their ceremony took place at Great Fosters, where the rich history of the venue added depth and warmth to every moment. Neutral, modern florals lined the aisle, creating a soft romantic palette that complemented the character of the room.
As Katie walked down the aisle, the emotion in the room was unmistakable. One of my favourite parts of being a Great Fosters wedding photographer is capturing these genuine, fleeting moments that happen so naturally in such a breathtaking setting.

Portraits in the Grounds of Great Fosters

After the ceremony, we explored the gardens for portraits — one of the absolute highlights of a Great Fosters wedding. The historic architecture, the archways, the ponds and the beautifully landscaped grounds make it a dream location for romantic, editorial-style images.
Katie and Chris were effortless together. Their soft, neutral wedding palette worked perfectly against the greenery and elegant features of the venue grounds.

A Modern, Neutral Reception

Their reception continued the classic-modern theme, with neutral florals, nude pink touches and soft candlelight creating a beautifully inviting atmosphere. The styling felt luxurious yet understated — the perfect backdrop for heartfelt speeches, emotional moments and the beginning of an amazing evening of celebrations.
As the sun set and the golden-hour light streamed into the room, the whole space glowed with warmth. It was one of those weddings where every detail felt considered but never overdone.

Great Fosters is one of my favourite Surrey wedding venues, and days like this remind me why. Katie and Chris created a wedding that felt true to them — elegant, modern and full of joyful, natural moments.
