Laura & Chris’s Foxhills Golf Resort Anniversary Reception

Dancing, partying, fun, enjoyment, fireworks, lots of love, romance and laughter, this is what our couple Laura and Chris’s anniversary reception was all about. Anniversary receptions are becoming increasingly popular among couples who’re deciding to host a party on their first anniversary in place of a traditional reception on their actual wedding day. Thanks to COVID and the related restrictions, these couples weren’t able to have a reception in the first place, but that’s not what they’re going to be settling for. Not ready to give all the happy and fun moments with their friends and family a miss, they’re going ahead with anniversary receptions. And we’re completely in favour of that! Laura and Chris also walked down the same route, and everyone in attendance had a blast! Their anniversary reception was held at Foxhills Golf Club & Resort. It was a bright, colourful and vibrant celebration that kept everyone in high spirits and super excited throughout. Along with our charming couple and their lovely guests, we also had fun and loved creating all those beautiful images. It was truly a wonderful day and a wholesome experience as wedding photographers.

For us, this was a special event as we had already photographed the bride and groom – exactly one year ago! It was like catching up with old friends again one year later. We felt as if the evening was still part of the original wedding day and we were documenting an extension of that special time dedicated to celebrating the union of Laura and Chris.

Our couple had celebrated their wedding in November 2020, where they had managed to rearrange their wedding to bring it earlier in the week from Saturday to Thursday. The reason for this? The UK went into lockdown on Friday. Thankfully they had managed to move everything and had a wonderful wedding for 15 of their favourite people, but they didn’t have a reception. Fast forward a year and here we were, ready to photograph their reception in November 2021.

Our bride and groom wore the same dress and suit as what they had put on for their original wedding. They printed off dozens of photographs and designed them onto wooden palettes to connect the two events. Laura and Chris, that was a brilliant idea and we’re sure everyone loved it.

During this beautiful celebration, we laughed as the DJ got everyone doing a few party games. The best man had everyone crying with laughter, the bride and groom kindly introduced their close friends to the dance floor during their first dance as they were married last year but didn’t get a reception. One of our favourite parts was when the DJ had a confetti cannon with him and let it go when the couple was having their first dance. It was so fantastic and created a lovely atmosphere. It looked amazing in the images.

Another thing that just melted our hearts was seeing our wonderful couple being able to have their anniversary reception just the way they wanted it. After a year of COVID restrictions and not being able to have the wedding they wanted in 2020, it was a joyous occasion to be able to celebrate with their nearest and dearest and let their hair down. Another highlight of the day were the fireworks! We loved the fireworks outside in the evening. It was perfect as it was bonfire night too, so there were lots of fireworks going off in the distance. They were so colourful and gorgeous, making our couple’s special day all the more interesting and memorable than it already was. The images we got at this time turned out to be looking all impressive!

From photographing the details to taking photos of Laura and Chris in front of the pretty Christmas tree to creating their portraits outside on the balcony to capturing their romantic first dance on our camera and documenting all the images of the party, we enjoyed it all. It was an incredible night of fun and happiness, which we loved to be a part of and turn into forever photos!
