Littlefield Manor Wedding Photographer | Ashley & Bob’s Relaxed Festival Wedding

Littlefield Manor, St Barbara's Church, Surrey Wedding Photography

Some weddings instantly make you feel at home, and Ashley and Bob’s beautiful wedding day was exactly that. Relaxed, welcoming and filled with laughter, their celebration perfectly reflected who they are as a couple. From a historic church ceremony to a countryside reception complete with a petting zoo, festival-style atmosphere and one of the loveliest supplier teams we’ve worked alongside, this was a wedding we’ll remember for a long time.

As Littlefield Manor Wedding Photographers, this was an especially exciting day for us because it was our very first visit to the venue. There’s always something special about discovering a new wedding venue through the eyes of a couple celebrating one of the biggest days of their lives, and Littlefield Manor certainly didn’t disappoint.

A Historic Ceremony at St Barbara’s Church

Ashley and Bob chose to marry at the beautiful St Barbara’s Church in Deepcut, a church with an incredible recent history.
Many film fans may recognise it from the famous church fight scene in Kingsman, where the church was used during filming. After being closed for some time, it had only reopened the week of Ashley and Bob’s wedding, making them one of the very first couples to celebrate their marriage there following its reopening.
It certainly felt like a wonderful occasion to witness. The church looked beautiful, the atmosphere was full of excitement and there was something incredibly special about photographing such an important milestone in the building’s new chapter.
The ceremony itself was warm, heartfelt and full of emotion, setting the perfect tone for everything that followed.

Arriving at Littlefield Manor

After the ceremony we made our way to Littlefield Manor, and it didn’t take long to understand why Ashley and Bob had fallen in love with it.
Nestled amongst the Surrey countryside, the venue has a wonderfully relaxed feel. Rather than feeling overly formal, it encourages guests to spread out, enjoy the gardens, chat over drinks and simply enjoy spending time together.
As photographers, we immediately began spotting beautiful pockets of light, interesting backdrops and quiet corners that would work perfectly for portraits later in the day. One of our favourite discoveries was the stunning Walled Garden, which would become the backdrop for some of our favourite photographs.

A Wedding That Felt Like a Festival

If we had to describe Ashley and Bob’s wedding in just a few words, we’d probably choose relaxed festival vibes.
Everything about the day felt effortless.
Guests wandered through the gardens with drinks in hand, children played on the lawns, conversations flowed naturally and there was never a sense of rushing from one part of the day to the next.
It was exactly the kind of atmosphere we love photographing.
Some weddings follow a very traditional structure, while others create space for everyone simply to enjoy themselves. Ashley and Bob achieved that balance perfectly. There was always something happening, yet the whole day felt calm and beautifully unhurried.
Those relaxed moments often become the photographs couples treasure the most years later—the hugs between friends, spontaneous laughter, conversations in the sunshine and all the little interactions that can’t be planned.

The Petting Zoo Was a Huge Hit

One of the most memorable features of Littlefield Manor has to be the wonderful petting zoo.
It quickly became one of the biggest talking points of the drinks reception, with guests of all ages making their way over to meet the friendly animals.
It’s not something you see at many wedding venues and it gave the day such a unique personality.
Rather than everyone remaining in one place waiting for the next part of the day, guests explored the grounds, met the animals and enjoyed the relaxed countryside setting. It perfectly matched Ashley and Bob’s vision for a wedding that felt personal, informal and fun.

Portraits That Felt Completely Natural

Ashley was an absolute dream to photograph.

Having spent time in front of a professional camera before, she was completely at ease throughout the day, allowing us to create portraits that felt effortless rather than overly posed. That confidence meant we could simply guide rather than direct, giving Ashley and Bob the opportunity to enjoy spending time together while we documented those genuine moments between them.
The Walled Garden provided a beautiful backdrop, offering soft greenery, elegant textures and plenty of peaceful corners away from the celebrations.
These are often our favourite moments of a wedding day.
Just ten or fifteen minutes together gives couples a chance to pause, take everything in and enjoy a little quiet time before heading back to their guests.

Working Alongside Wonderful Suppliers

A huge part of any successful wedding is the team working behind the scenes, and this day was no exception.
A special mention has to go to Holly from Blank Canvas Weddings, who was exceptional throughout the day.
Everything ran seamlessly from beginning to end, but never felt overly managed or rushed. Holly created an atmosphere where Ashley and Bob could simply enjoy themselves knowing everything else was under control.

As wedding photographers, we genuinely love working alongside experienced planners because great organisation allows everyone—including the couple—to relax. Holly’s calm approach and attention to detail made the entire day feel effortless, and it was an absolute pleasure working with her.
We’re always grateful to work with suppliers who care just as much about the couple’s experience as they do about delivering an incredible wedding day.

An Evening Full of Celebration

As the afternoon drifted into the evening, the celebrations continued with fantastic food, plenty of laughter and the same wonderfully relaxed atmosphere that had defined the entire day.
Nothing ever felt staged.
Nothing felt forced.
It simply felt like a brilliant gathering of family and friends celebrating two lovely people.
Those are often our favourite weddings to photograph because they allow genuine moments to unfold naturally.

Why We Loved Photographing at Littlefield Manor

Although this was our first wedding at Littlefield Manor, we certainly hope it won’t be our last.
The venue offers such a fantastic variety of photographic opportunities, from the beautiful gardens and countryside surroundings to its relaxed layout that encourages guests to enjoy every part of the grounds.
Combined with unique touches like the petting zoo and its informal atmosphere, it’s a venue that allows couples to create a wedding that truly reflects their personalities rather than following tradition for tradition’s sake.
For photographers, it’s a wonderful place to tell a story.
For couples, it’s somewhere guests will remember long after the day has finished.
