Family churches and quaint barns make for the most gorgeous weddings; even in the pouring rain! Charlie and Tom celebrated their beautiful wedding day at Charlie’s family church, St Peter’s in Farnborough, on a pouring day in November. Despite the damp weather, that didn’t put a dampener on everyone’s spirits – it was a magical day indeed.
The ceremony
Charlie arrived at the church with her 5 bridesmaids, including her sisters, sister-in-law, and close friends. They helped her carry her dress and covered her with an umbrella as she walked up the leaf-covered pathway to the church oak doors. After taking a few minutes to compose themselves, they walked in with her Dad to the organ playing as she walked down the aisle. Tom’s reaction to seeing his bride was priceless. The ceremony was full of personalized moments with readings and prayers for the couple, making it such an occasion to witness.
The weather
Because the grass was too wet, they couldn’t take big group photos outside. But the best men did a great job guiding everyone to their seats for a fantastic aerial group photo. Even with the bad weather, many people wanted to celebrate with Tom and Charlie, creating a wonderful moment.
The reception at The Barn at Bury Court
The couple chose The Barn at Bury Court in Farnham for their wedding reception. It’s a charming venue with old oak beams and modern touches. The grounds have hidden gardens, ornate towers, and a beautiful tree alley. Luckily, it didn’t rain during the family and bridal party group photographs. The vibrant colors matched the winter wedding theme perfectly. They decorated the tables with festive flowers and added fairy lights for a magical touch to the evening photographs and entertainment.
